 Balbriggan Beaches

The name Balbriggan comes from the Irish Baile Brigín, meaning Brigín's town. Balbriggan has 3 beaches Blackrock Beach, Barnageeragh Beach and the Front Strand Beach.

Front Strand Beach is situated close to the Main Street in Balbriggan. The beach has a beautiful coastal walkway known locally as “The Nuns Walk”, which leads onto Blackrock, Balbriggan’s second beach. Toilet facilities are provided to the south end of the beach with access for the disabled.

Wavin Lake

Wavin Lake home of the Gormanstown Anglers covers approximately 26 acres.

The lake is also a wildlife sanctuary and Bird Watch Ireland have a hide located on the south of the lake.

An abundance of wildlife can be seen around the shores of the lake from Herons, water hens, dragon flies to name but a few ...
